| My train of thoughts, Considering a divorce case (civil) or a robbery (criminal) case, any Attorney can Subpoena for witnesses, for example. But unless that Subpoena is signed by the Judge to appear in court, its basically worthless and you as a citizen are not required to appear. But again, if signed by a Judge on that Subpoena to appear in court, you best do so, otherwise you are contempt of court. An Attorney cannot find you contempt of court of your don't respond to their subpoenas. That is my understanding. And of course, I could most likely be mistaken. William Richardson |
